Bulgaria Extends Contract with Moody’s

Bulgaria’s government decided to extend its contract with the international agency Moody's (Moody's Investor Service), signed in 2005.

The Council of Ministers authorized the Minister of Finance to give consent on behalf of Bulgaria with the updated rates for 2014. The new amendment does not substantially alter the pre-existing relations between Bulgaria and the rating agency.

As an argument, the representatives of the executive power indicate that the need for legal regulation of relations is conditioned by the fact that the availability of credit ratings by an internationally recognized agency, is a key condition for securing the country's access to global capital markets.
