On March 3 more than 350 Bulgarians from the Bulgarian community who live and work in United Arab Emirates (OAE), as well as foreign guests connected with Bulgaria, gathered in Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai to mark the Bulgarian National day.
They were moved in our country that celebrated 146 years of its independence thanks to the cultural program, the exhibition and the cocktail, organized by our Ambassador to the UAE Ivan Yordanov and our Consul-General to Dubai – Stanislav Dimitrov.
Bulgarian musicians, singers and artists who work and live in UAE, made the holiday more colorful gratuitously participating in the celebration. The host of the cultural program was Natalya Miteva-Petkova.

The Authentic Folklore Club “Zdravetz” (“Geranium”) performed the dance “Maiden sevda (love)” under the arrangement and music of Stoyan Stoyanov and the Viktoria Zacharieva choreography.
“Izlel e Delyo Haydutin” to the accompaniment of the bagpipe by Hristo Hristov was performed by the folk singer Elena Vladova – Nora.
Velislava Todorova – cello and Viktoria Sacharieva – piano – performed the pieces ”Pastoral”, ”Humoreska” and ”Horo” of the composer Ilya Draganov. Zacharieva also played the Stoyan Stoyanov ”Rosni mi rosni Rositze”.
Iva Georgieva with the piano accompaniment of Sandra Stefanova moved the guests with the iconic ”Tell me oblache le bialo”.
Than followed the song ”The world is for two”, performed by Bobi Valchev. He, together with the lead singer Iva Georgieva, Stoyan Stoyanov – piano, Marin Bozev – saxophone, and Kaloyan Kalchev – drums, presented jazz-versions of ”One Bulgarian Rose” and ”My country, my Bulgaria”.
During the whole event on video wall were screened footage from the exhibition ”Bulgaria from bird’s eye view”, organized with the assistance of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in OAE.
