The governing bodies have eviscerated the institutions, said Prof. Evgeny Daynov

Евгений Дайнов

"Authorities have no management tool because they have disembowelled the institutions," Prof. Evgeny Daynov told the BNR. According to him, institutions have been transformed by ruling bodies into companies, servicing  private interest, and even if they want to govern-they cannot do so.

"What is left for them to do is trudge along to the end of their term, which is their supreme goal," he commented. In his words all parties in this Parliament are well tamed and are GERB allies. There is resentment and resistance in society, but no perception "that these parties can be removed and replaced with something more constructive."

Prof. Dainov also said that public discontent and the so-called "groundswell" should not be underestimated, but pointed out that the opposition party "BSP is titanic in its inability to be an alternative".

"There is no separation of powers, all were incorporated by Boyko Borisov.

Only one power remained outside the hen house- this is the presidential power. There is no way for the two authorities (Prime Minister and President – Ed.note) to conflict, because this is the only division of powers and that's where all the tension that is wandering around in society, trying to be represented through the president is assembling, "said Evgeny Dainov.

He commented on the activities of Attorney General Ivan Geshev, saying: "he is not in the field of law, he is completely in the field of politics."

In his words Geshev continued the line of Sotir Tsatsarov to seize power from the disempowered institutions in the state. "Geshev is one of the most powerful, perhaps the most powerful political player. He has the power to make decisions that affect every citizen of the country. He has more powers than the Prime minister, let alone the President. He is the person who manages to turn the collected power into his own power”  and recalled that since 2014, he had been warning that the prosecution would begin to accumulate political power. According to the political scientist ,Attorney General Geshev was produced as an autonomous player by interests gathered together in one place.

As for Slavy Trifonov’s party Prof. Dainov said that such populist projects always enter the Parliament, but that he had no political flair.
